BRIEF: Home plates: New menu at Cubs camp has local flavor

March 04--Fans attending Chicago Cubs spring training games at Sloan Park will notice a new traffic light and some new food options starting with Friday's game against the Los Angeles Angels.

A traffic light is now in operation in front of the ballpark at Clark Street and Rio Salado Parkway. The light was installed to assist pedestrian traffic.

The new food options include the Maxwell Street Dog, a Polish-style dog topped with caramelized onions and mustard served in an open-faced boat. The new Red Hot is a bratwurst topped with sauerkraut and mustard also served open-faced. Garlic fries and beef brisket also are on the updated menu.

Hot Doug's and Portillo's brands will serve their products from food trucks near the citrus grove behind the right field berm, the team announced.
