May 15--Bad news, rock fans. The Hideout bar in the West Town community won't be hosting its annual Block Party/Onion A.V. Fest this year.
Hideout co-owner Katie Tuten said she and her husband Tim are taking the summer off to read books and prep for the 20th anniversary of the block party, which will be next year.
"Basically we're preparing for our 20th anniversary so we wanted to put our attention and energies towards that," Tuten said.
Death Cab for Cutie headlined last year's block party. Neko Case and Wilco have previously performed.
