BRIEF: Harvey man dies 11 years after being shot; death ruled homicide

Feb. 12--An autopsy conducted Wednesday determined that a man shot nearly 11 years ago when he was in his teens died this week of his injuries.

David Campbell, 27, of the 15700 block of Marshfield Avenue in Harvey, was pronounced dead at 1:37 a.m. Monday at Franciscan St. James Health hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Campbell was shot in the 2500 block of North Long Avenue in Chicago on Sept. 26, 2004, according to the office.

The autopsy determined that Campbell died of complications from multiple gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide.

Chicago police could not provide any details about the case.
