Oct. 30--A Harvey man has been charged with armed robbery in a string of robberies on Chicago's North Side this month, one of which left a man shot in the eye with a pellet gun, police said.
William Sims, 23, worked with two women to rob people in four different instances, police said. In one robbery, which occurred Oct. 5 in the 2000 block of West Concord Place, Sims shot a 32-year-old man in the eye with a pellet gun before getting away with his possessions, police said. The man went to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in serious condition.
Sims, of the 14800 block of South Wood Street in Harvey, is charged with four counts of armed robbery and one count of aggravated battery. He is expected to appear in court Friday.
Tiara Collins and Makiah Burns, both 18, were charged earlier this month in the robberies.
