BRIEF: 'Happy Endings' creator developing project for Showtime

April 26--"Happy Endings" creator David Caspe is helping develop a half-hour action comedy for Showtime, Deadline reported Monday.

Caspe, who grew up in Glencoe, his childhood friend Jordan Cahan ("My Best Friend's Girl") and "The Mysteries of Laura" co-executive producer Aaron Kaplan are working on the project, called "Manhunt." "Identity Thief" director Seth Gordon, who grew up in Evanston, is set to direct.

Kaplan confirmed the news on Twitter Monday.

Caspe's Chicago-set sitcom "Happy Endings" aired from 2011-13 on ABC.
