Jan. 14--Writers Theatre artistic director Michael Halberstam will direct Henrik Ibsen's "A Doll's House" for the young Definition Theatre Company, a spokeswoman for the production said on Tuesday.
Halberstam's connection to the company comes from his alma mater, the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, where Definition was founded by fellow alumni.
The director's homebase in Glencoe is currently under construction, with planned completion of a new theater set for early 2016. For the time being, they're producing in smaller spaces like their Books on Vernon venue and a local church.
This is the theater's sixth full production. "Genesis" in 2014 was directed by Steppenwolf ensemble member Alana Arenas.
"A Doll's House" will be performed at the Chopin Theatre in Noble Square, 1543 W. Division St., from April 3-May 3. Tickets are now on sale.
