Feb. 29--A Gurnee man has been charged in a shooting outside a South Loop neighborhood club that critically injured a woman and wounded a security guard.
The shooting happened about 2 a.m. Feb. 20 at the entrance of The Shrine club at 2109 S. Wabash St., police said.
Cameron White, 25, of the 900 block of Crestville Court in Gurnee, had been involved in a fight inside the club and was escorted out by security. Shortly after, he returned and fired shots from a car, striking a security guard and a 29-year-old woman who were at the club's entrance, police said.
White was ordered held without bail in a hearing in Cook County Bond Court on Sunday.
The woman, who was shot in the forehead, was taken in critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The security guard, 34, suffered a wound to the leg and also was taken to Northwestern, police said.
The burgundy vehicle used in the shooting was traced to White, whom police located in Waukegan. After being identified as the shooter, White was charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm and two counts of first-degree attempted murder, police said.
