BRIEF: Gunfire strikes West Side school, no injuries reported

Sept. 02--Gunfire struck a window of a school while classes were in session Wednesday afternoon on the West Side in the city's Austin neighborhood.

The shooting happened about 1 p.m. in the 5600 block of West Washington Boulevard near the Catalyst Circle Rock charter school, according to preliminary information from Chicago Police News Affairs.

It appears someone inside a vehicle was firing at another vehicle, and a bullet strayed in the direction of the school, striking a window, police said.

No students were injured, and police were investigating.
