Feb. 24--Grippo Elden, a 25-lawyer Chicago law firm, will merge on March 1 with Shook, Hardy Bacon, of Kansas City, Mo.
The firms are known for their litigation practices.
"During our firm's history, we have had many overtures to combine with another firm," Gary Elden said in a statement. "We have known and worked alongside Shook attorneys for more than 20 years. Like Shook, we deliver client-focused, practical solutions, and we bring our clients the highest-quality representation in sophisticated commercial litigation matters."
Shook, Hardy Bacon has more than 400 lawyers in 13 offices in the United States and Europe. It had more than $300 million in revenues in 2013, according to American Lawyer magazine.
