April 04--Gregg Allman, Peter Frampton and others are set to play the Laid Back Festival in July in Chicago, one of five American cities hosting the one-day events, Allman announced Monday.
The festival is scheduled for 4 p.m. July 16 at FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island. Blackberry Smoke, Jaimoe's Jasssz Band, Lil' Ed and The Blues Imperials, Eddy "The Chief" Clearwater, Roomful of Blues and Rick Estrin and The Nightcats are also on the bill. Tickets, which cost $25-$99.75 plus fees, are on sale via laidbackfestival.com.

The inaugural festival, which is named for Allman's 1973 solo debut, was held last year on Long Island. This year's edition is scheduled to kick off next month in Atlanta and wrap up in September in Morrison, Colo.
Allman said he is also slated to play the Illinois State Fair Aug. 21 in Springfield.
