Nov. 13--The Huskies (8-2, 5-1) remain in control of their destiny in the Mid-American Conference West race after defeating Toledo (6-3, 5-1), 27-24 Tuesday night in DeKalb. NIU travels to Ohio on Tuesday night before winding up the regular season Nov. 28 at Western Michigan.
Offense: B+
Da'Ron Brown caught a career-long 64-yard touchdown pass from Drew Hare. The senior has 19 career touchdown receptions, sixth all-time in NIU history. Cameron Stingily recorded his 10th rushing touchdown of the season and 19th of his career.
Defense: B
Defensive end Jason Meehan had a third-quarter sack, his seventh of the season and 14th of his career. Meehan is tied for 10th on the all-time NIU sack list. Cornerback Paris Logan broke up his 11th pass of the season, tying him with former Huskie Jimmie Ward for seventh on that list.
Special teams: A
Freshman Christian Hagan converted the first two field goals of his collegiate career. Tyler Wedel landed three punts inside the 20.
Coaching: B
Rod Carey admitted he could have managed the final minute or so of the game better in terms of clock management. But the Huskies were prepared emotionally throughout the contest on Senior Night.
