BRIEF: Girl, 7, missing from South Shore found safe

March 20--A 7-year-old girl who went missing from a South Shore elementary school Thursday has been found, police said.

The girl, Kendra Broughton, went missing Thursday afternoon. She was dropped off at Powell Elementary School, 7511 S. South Shore Drive, about 8:50 a.m., according to a police statement. The girl was missing when a parent came to the school to pick her up at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Friday morning, police said they girl had been found safe.
