Jan. 31--A 6-year-old girl died after she was found in a bathtub Friday evening in the Marquette Park neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
Police were called to a residence in the 6300 block of South Fairfield Avenue around 5:30 p.m., said Chicago police spokesman Officer Ron Gaines.
Police said they found the girl unconscious in a bathtub.
The girl was transported to Holy Cross Hospital where she was pronounced dead, Gaines said.
The Cook County medical examiner's office confirmed the child's death, but couldn't provide additional details early Saturday.
Police are conducting a death investigation, and no other information was immediately available.
