June 14--A 5-year-old girl died Saturday evening after being hit by a vehicle in Hoffman Estates, police said.
The accident happened at 12:27 p.m. Saturday on West Thacker Street east of Illinois Boulevard in Hoffman Estates, police said.
The girl was struck by the vehicle, police said, and was not conscious or breathing when police arrived. The girl was taken to Lutheran General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 6:18 p.m.
She was identified as Aleeza Haq of the 1700 block of English Drive in Glendale Heights, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
The driver of the vehicle is a 52-year-old resident of Hoffman Estates who was not injured in the crash. No citations have been issued, but police are investigating.
