June 30--A 16-year-old girl died Monday after being shot in Hammond, Indiana, authorities said.
Laren Calvillo, 16, was pronounced dead at 8:02 p.m. Monday at Franciscan St. Margaret Hospital in Hammond, according to the Lake County Coroner's Office.
Officials there said Calvillo died after she was shot in the 5500 block of Beall Street in Hammond. Calvillo lived on the block where she was killed, according to the coroner's office.
