Oct. 05--A man was shot to death and four others were wounded, including two 14-year-old teens, in separate shootings Sunday, and a man was stabbed on a CTA platform on the South Side, police said.

A 48-year-old man, identified as Craig Curry, was killed in a possible domestic-related shooting around 8 p.m. Sunday in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Police officers found the man with a gunshot wound to his head inside a residence in the 6800 block of South Loomis Boulevard, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.

Curry, who resided at the same block where he was shot to death, was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:18 p.m., and police said the incident is possibly domestic-related.

The attacker who shot the man fled. No one was in custody as of late Sunday evening, Alfaro said.

Most recently, a 16-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting around 8:40 p.m. Sunday in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The boy was standing in an alley in the 4500 block of South Troy Street with several other people when he heard gunshots and realized he was hit, Alfaro said.

The boy was struck in the abdomen and taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, Alfaro said.

Five minutes earlier, at 8:35 p.m., a 26-year-old woman was wounded in a shooting in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, Alfaro said.

The woman was getting out of a vehicle in the 6400 block of South Hoyne Avenue when she heard gunshots and realized she was struck in the left foot, Alfaro said. She was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where her condition stabilized, Alfaro said.

Around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, police said they were called to respond to the CTA Green Line stop in the 6300 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue in the West Woodlawn neighborhood for a battery in progress, said Officer Nicole Trainor, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

When they arrived on the platform at the Cottage Grove station, they found that a 19-year-old man had suffered a stab wound to the right side of his neck, Trainor said. The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, Trainor said.

A suspect was in custody, she said.

Earlier, a 14-year-old girl was shot at 11:45 a.m. Sunday in the 6400 block of South Honore Street in the West Englewood neighborhood, Trainor said.

The girl was shot in the elbow and taken in good condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Trainor said.

The girl was walking when a vehicle pulled up to her and someone got out and began shooting, Trainor said.

According to preliminary information, the shooting may be gang-related, Trainor said.

At 3:13 p.m. Sunday, a 14-year-old boy walked into Mercy Hospital and told police he had been shot in the 3100 block of South Princeton Avenue in Bridgeport, Trainor said.
