Feb. 05--Minnesota hasn't won a game since nine days before Christmas, when it defeated Chicago State.
The Gophers are 6-16 overall and 0-10 in the Big Ten. Their 11 consecutive losses stood at six more than Northwestern, its opponent Thursday night, has on its current streak without victory.
The Wildcats (15-8, 3-7) haven't swept a season series from the Gophers since 2006. They defeated the Gophers 77-52 at Minnesota on Jan. 9.
Northwestern sophomore point guard Bryant McIntosh entered the game two assist shy of breaking Tim Doyle's program record for assists in a season (157).
McIntosh entered the game 10th nationally and first in the Big Ten with 6.8 assists per game. He also leads the Wildcats with 14.6 points per game.
Northwestern is coming off an 85-71 loss at No. 3 Iowa during which Tre Demps scored a career-high 30 points.
Nate Mason leads the Gophers with 13.7 points and 4.5 assists per game.
