On the mound

Reliever Justin Grimm struck out three but allowed two runs on two hits in 1-1/3 innings.

In the field

Infielder Jeimer Candelario, considered one of the organization's top defenders, was charged with an error.

Key number

7. Pitchers used by the Cubs.

The quote

Coach/interim manager Dave Martinez: "I enjoy it. I enjoy being on the field and enjoy teaching and aspects of the game. Being next to Joe Maddon, who over the past 10 years has showed me so much on how to handle different situations, I've been blessed."
