July 02--Freshii will open another Chicago outlet in Navy Pier this coming August. It is just one of a number of new food purveyors that have arrived or are scheduled to open at Navy Pier. Big City Chicken, for example, opened there last week.
Freshii, a Toronto-based company that offers a casual menu promoting nutrition and health, will be open a 500-square-foot venue in one of the Pier's food courts, according to Nikki Ellis, a company publicist. The chain has more than 20 locations in Chicago and suburbs.
"The new location at Navy Pier will be franchise owned and operated," Ellis wrote in an email. The menu will be similar to those found at other Freshii restaurants in Chicago, she added, but the Navy Pier location will be unique as its seating overlooks the water.
Nick Shields, Navy Pier's director of external communications, says the Freshii outpost will be located near the pier's Ferris Wheel and Wave Wall.
There are 160 Freshii restaurants globally in over 70 cities and 13 countries, according to company publicity.
