BRIEF: Free Street Theater names new general manager

April 14--Free Street Theater announced Thursday that Melissa DuPrey has been named the company's new general manager.

DuPrey, an ensemble member at Teatro Luna and a Chicago-based performer, comedian and activist, replaces Caroline O'Boyle. O'Boyle, who is now on Free Street's board, has been named the director of programs and partnerships for The 606 trail by The Trust for Public Land.

Founded in 1969, Free Street Theater's programming consists of a youth conservatory, a multi-generational collective, an incubator program for artists developing new performances, and workshops and residencies held throughout Chicago communities. The company is located at the Pulaski Park Fieldhouse, 1419 W. Blackhawk St.
