April 17--Just opened Amorino (838 N. State St., 312-266-7466) will give away gelato Saturday.
From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. , the shop will hold a "Gelato Hour," during which visitors can have a free gelato piccolo cup or cone.
The European gelateria opened its first location in the Midwest Wednesday. According to its website, the store also sells sorbet, granitas, chocolates, crepes, waffles and Lavazza coffee. "Preview hours" until May 1 will be 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekends.
