Dec. 06--The American Cinematheque's Aero Theatre in Santa Monica salutes three-time Oscar-winning director Frank Capra with an eight-film retrospective. It starts Sunday with restorations of his 1933 romantic drama "The Bitter Tea of General Yen," starring his frequent leading lady Barbara Stanwyck, and his lavish 1937 adaptation of James Hilton's romantic fantasy, "Lost Horizon," with Ronald Colman. Other films in the festival, which continues through Jan. 3, include 1936's "Mr. Deeds Goes to Town," 1939's "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" and 1934's "It Happened One Night," for which he earned his first directing Oscar.
