Feb. 20--A former Ontario police officer is free on bail after he was arrested on suspicion of having sex with a 17-year-old girl he met while on duty, authorities announced Friday.
Tyler Stone, 30, surrendered to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department on Thursday night after a county judge issued an arrest warrant on two charges of oral copulation with a person under 18, unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and annoying or molesting a child under 18.
Stone worked for the Ontario Police Department for less than four years and was with the department until Dec. 22, when he resigned after San Bernardino County detectives opened an investigation and his department suspended him.
Officials said that Stone "met the victim while he was on duty and later developed a sexual relationship with her." Stone allegedly molested the girl in Ontario and in his home in Rancho Cucamonga while off duty.
After surrendering to authorities, Stone was booked into jail. He posted $150,000 bail and was released about 3:30 a.m. Friday. No arraignment date has been set.
