Sept. 30--A former LAPD officer pleaded no contest Tuesday to offering to sell a controlled substance last year to an undercover officer.
Randolph Agard, who was fired by the LAPD this year, pleaded to two counts related to possession of drugs for sale, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office.
Agard, 41, was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Fred Wapner to 480 hours of community service and three years' probation.
According to the district attorney's office, Agard responded in April 2014 to a classified ad online that was seeking drugs. The ad was part of an undercover LAPD operation.
When Agard arrived at a prearranged meeting place, he was arrested by LAPD narcotics officers. In his jacket pocket they found 20 pills of hydrocodone and 35 more pills in his car.
The district attorney's Justice System Integrity Division prosecuted the case.
