BRIEF: Former Blackhawk Ron 'Chico' Maki dies at 76

Aug. 25--Ron "Chico" Maki, who played parts of 15 seasons with the Blackhawks during the 1960s and '70s, died Monday, the team confirmed. Maki was 76.

Maki was a three-time All-Star who got his name on the Stanley Cup after playing in one game during the Hawks' 1961 Stanley Cup playoff run.

A native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Maki played in 841 games for the Hawks before retiring after the 1975-76 season. He scored 143 goals and posted 292 assists with his best seasons coming in 1965-66 and 1970-71, when he totaled 48 points.

Maki's late brother Wayne played two seasons with the Blackhawks and also played for the Blues and Canucks.
