Oct. 13--Former Chicago Blackhawks alternate captain Patrick Sharp and his wife, Abby, have rented out their 13-room, 7,300-square-foot brick and limestone mansion on an extra-wide lot in Lakeview's Southport Corridor neighborhood for $10,500 a month.
The Blackhawks traded Sharp, 33, to the Dallas Stars in July to clear space under the National Hockey League's salary cap. The deal ended Sharp's decade-long tenure as a Blackhawk, during which he won three Stanley Cups.
Sharp and his wife bought their six-bedroom mansion in the Southport Corridor in 2012 for $2.95 million. Instead of putting it on the market, they listed it as a rental for $12,000 a month before lowering their fee.
Built in 2009, the house has five full baths, two half baths, a dramatic curved staircase with custom baby gates, tall ceilings, a mudroom, an attached three-car garage, a master suite with a spa bath and custom dressing room, a kitchen with a butler's pantry, a great room, two roof decks, an outdoor kitchen, an exercise room and a lower-level rec room with a wet bar and a wine cellar.
