March 09--Matt Forte's new team is not the one Chicago Bears fans feared it might be.
The longtime Bears running back has agreed to join the New York Jets, ESPN and NFL Network reported Wednesday afternoon.
The news comes a day after ESPN reported the Green Bay Packers had "serious interest" in Forte, who recently ended a decorated eight-year tenure with the Bears.
In New York, Forte reunites with receiver Brandon Marshall and should have a good chance to start. Their incumbent starter, Chris Ivory, agreed to a five-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars this week, according to several national reports.
