BRIEF: Former Bear Richard Dent fined for speeding on Edens Expressway

July 23--Former Chicago Bears defensive end Richard Dent was fined $924 in Cook County court Wednesday after he was clocked driving more than 100 mph on the Edens Expressway in Northfield last April, court records show.

Dent, 54, of Long Grove, was pulled over after his car registered a speed of 107 mph in a 55 mph zone, police said at the time. Dent was pulled over near Winnetka Avenue at about 2 a.m. while driving a 2010 Range Rover, according to police, who said he was "very cooperative" while he was taken to the Northfield police station to be processed.

Dent, who was named MVP when the Bears won the Super Bowl after the 1985 season, was also placed on conditional discharge, similar to probation, until July 2, 2016, court records show.
