BRIEF: Former Bear Dave Duerson portrayed in movie 'Concussion'

Aug. 31--Will Smith stars as Dr. Bennet Omalu, the neuropathologist who first discovered chronic traumatic encephalopathy in the brain of football players, in the movie "Concussion."

A trailer for the movie, which is scheduled to open in theaters Dec. 25, was released Monday.

In the movie, actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje portrays former Chicago Bear Dave Duerson.

Duerson, who played in the NFL for 11 seasons and on the 1985 Bears, took his own life in 2011. Later that year, Boston University researchers announced that Duerson's brain had evidence of CTE.

The film also stars Alec Baldwin and Albert Brooks, and Luke Wilson reportedly will portray NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
