BRIEF: Ford City Mall getting Five Below, and a Sephora inside JCPenney

March 17--Ford City Mall said it has landed teen discount retailer Five Below and cosmetics purveyor Sephora as new merchants.

The Sephora store will be inside of a JCPenney store and is expected to open in late spring 2016. Five Below is slated to open this fall.

JCPenney and Carson's, both anchor tenants at the mall at 7601 S. Cicero Ave. in Chicago, plan to renovate their interiors.

Tracy Munno, mall general manager, said in a press release that interior mall renovations planned for 2016 include new corridor seating, new lighting and flooring, and a remodeled food court that will accommodate more eateries.

New food court tenants will include El Taconazo, mall spokeswoman Kasia Yuska said Wednesday.

The mall is 86 percent occupied, Yuska said.

Construction of new buildings on the mall's perimeter is also planned for 2016 and will likely house other restaurants and retailers.

AMC Theatres has already renovated its movie house at the mall.
