Fooda opens at North Bridge, offering rotating lunch menu

Nov. 17--Fooda, a Chicago company that brings a rotating menu of restaurants into corporate offices, launched its first mall location at the Shops at North Bridge on Michigan Avenue on Monday.

The business will offer a limited number of menu options for lunch from one of its 60 restaurant partners seven days a week, said Paige Stewart, Fooda's restaurant account manager. The food each restaurant offers will also change to give customers a range of samples. Fooda's lineup is planned so that the same type of cuisine is not served two days in a row.

Fooda served a handful of items from Summer House Santa Monica in Lincoln Park on Monday, including short rib tacos and Mexican street corn. Most menu items were between $3 and $5.

Lunch will be served at the Shops at North Bridge from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. Stewart said the lineup will include a number of Chicago restaurants, ranging from fast food like Wow Bao to sit-down establishments including Barn Company, Zoup, Pita Heaven, Moe's Southwest Grill and Dinosaur Bar-B-Que.

Both the mall owner and Fooda declined to offer lease terms, but Stewart said Fooda does "not see this engagement as temporary."

Stewart said Fooda, which is in downtown office towers including 222 South Riverside Plaza and 321 N. Clark St., said it hopes to expand in more buildings that are open to the public, both office towers and malls.
