BRIEF: Flurries, cold expected for Thanksgiving

Nov. 27--Heading outdoors on Thanksgiving?

Bundle up.

Below-average cold is expected Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. Highs are supposed to reach only into the mid-20s before dipping to single digits Thursday evening. Wind gusts are forecast to reach up to 30 mph during the day.

National Weather Service meterologist Eric Lenning said flurries were possible throughout the Thanksgiving. He said Friday will see higher temperatures begin to roll into Chicago, beginning a warming trend.

Forecasts for Saturday call for highs reaching into the lower 50s, Lenning said.
