BRIEF: Florida State player says team's tires slashed after Rose Bowl loss

Jan. 03--Oregon proved to be too much for Florida State at the Rose Bowl, dropping the defending national champions, 59-20, in a semifinal game of the College Football Playoff.

Returning home to Tallahassee, Fla., instead of receiving a warm welcome from Seminole fans after an impressive 13-1 season, freshman linebacker Anthony Valdes tweeted that players found that their vehicles had been vandalized.

"People actually keyd our cars and slashed our tires," Valdes tweeted Friday. "Smh go 29-0 but lose one game and people don't know how to act," he added.

Two reports have been filed by Florida State employees with the FSU Police Department, though it was not immediately clear that the vandalism was related to the Seminoles' Rose Bowl game loss, FSU police spokesman Jim Russell told the Tallahassee Democrat.

"The officers investigating at the time could not determine a time frame of when the vehicles were damaged," Russell said, "so we don't know of the damage happened before or after the bowl game."

Oregon will play Ohio State in the College Football Playoff national championship game on Jan. 12 at AT Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
