Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are the producing duo that will shepherd this translation onto the small screen. "Preacher" was penned by Garth Ennis and drawn by artist Steve Dillon. The Vertigo series is deeply dark and very disturbing and comes with a rabid pack of fans.

Set in the South, the series revolves around a troubled Texas preacher Jesse Custer (played by Dominic Cooper), who is entangled in a holy war when he's possessed by an exceedingly powerful demon. Custer is tasked with finding God, who has gone missing, with the help of his sharp shooter ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire, Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun).

The series is violent, dark -- fingers crossed the AMC version will live up to the comic book's bloody pages. Very little can be seen in the trailer premiere; however, we did get a quick glimpse at the main crew and a few Western sunsets. The series won't air until 2016.
