BRIEF: First look at 'Legends of Tomorrow's' Hawkman and Hawkgirl

Sept. 12--The CW has released a new image giving fans a first look at Hawkman and Hawkgirl in all their costumed superhero glory.

It was previously announced that Falk Hentshel and Ciara Renee would make their debut as the superpowered couple on "Arrow" and "The Flash" during a crossover event before taking flight to star in the ensemble DC superhero series "Legends of Tomorrow."

Hentshel plays Carter Hall, the latest reincarnation of an Egyptian prince who along with his soul mate, Kendra Saunders (Renee), can call upon the powers of Horus, the hawk god. Flight and superhuman strength are among the abilities granted to them.

One major difference between the CW's incarnation of Hawkgirl and Hawkman and their comic book counterparts is that they appear to be missing their wings (and Hawkman is more clothed than fans are probably used to seeing him).

However, there's no mistaking their iconic helmets and Hawkman's mace.

"Legends of Tomorrow" will also feature Caity Lotz as White Canary, Brandon Routh as the Atom, Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold and more. The series is slated for a 2016 premiere.
