Aug. 11--Fire crews slowed a fast-moving brush fire Tuesday that injured three firefighters and a resident as it burned along California 74 in Riverside County.
The 487-acre blaze started about 11:44 a.m. Monday in the community of Anza after a motor home fire spread into nearby brush along the highway, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. The fire was 20% contained.
A person inside the motor home suffered first- and second-degree burns to 3% of their body, fire officials said. The driver was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Three firefighters suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital, fire spokeswoman April Newman said.
Fire crews have been working to keep the blaze from spreading north of California 74.
As the flames scorched heavy brush, firefighters tried to establish a fire line around the blaze, forcing it to burn into less-populated areas toward the east.
By Tuesday morning, all evacuations orders were lifted.
