BRIEF: Firefighters battle blaze at candle warehouse in Batavia

April 26--A firefighter was injured Saturday night as crews battled a blaze inside a warehouse in Batavia.

Crews were called just before 7 p.m. Saturday to the building in the 600 block of Kingsland Drive, according to a fire department statement.

The fire in the warehouse, which is owned by Candle Corp of America, was upgraded to a box alarm, officials said. The fire caused a partial roof collapse, but crews managed to bring the blaze under control in about 30 minutes.

One firefighter was taken to an area hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released, according to the statement.

Fire officials said the cause of the fire was under investigation and they were still surveying the extent of the damage early Sunday.
