BRIEF: Firefighter, two police officers injured in Far South Side fire

Aug. 06--Two Chicago police officers and a firefighter were injured at a fire early Thursday, according to authorities.

The officers were taken to Metro South Medical Center as a precaution after they inhaled smoke, according to police. The firefighter was treated at the scene but not taken to a hospital.

The fire was reported about 3:55 a.m. at a vacant house in the 12400 block of South State Street and it was extinguished within about 45 minutes, authorities said.
