BRIEF: Firefighter injured in Humboldt Park blaze

Nov. 08--A Chicago firefighter was injured while battling a blaze early Saturday in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side, authorities said.

The fire started about 5 a.m. in a vacant, two-story building in the 900 block of North Monticello Avenue, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Juan Hernandez, citing preliminary information.

One of the firefighters suffered minor injuries and was transported to West Suburban Medical Center, Hernandez said.

No other details were immediately available.
