BRIEF: FedEx driver robbed, suspect flees in company's truck on South Side

Jan. 22--Chicago police are investigating the Thursday morning armed robbery of a FedEx delivery driver by a person who fled in the driver's truck on the South Side, officials said.

The robbery happened at 10 a.m. in the 7000 block of South Peoria Street in the Englewood neighborhood, police said.

The driver was at that location when an armed male went up to Fed Ex driver and robbed the person, police said.

After the robbery, the suspect fled in the truck, which was found abandoned a short time later in an alley, police said.

The driver was not injured. Area South detectives are investigating.
