Jan. 09--A suspect is in custody Friday afternoon after the second bank robbery of the day.
About 1:30 p.m. the Belmont Bank Trust branch at 121 W. Wacker Dr. in the Loop was robbed, according to police and the FBI.
A suspect is in custody for the heist, according to FBI spokeswoman Joan Hyde, who said agents were on their way to the scene.
Chicago Police Department spokesman Thomas Sweeney said no one was hurt in the Wacker incident. Check back for details.
Earlier, in the city's Wicker Park neighborhood, another bank was robbed.
The masked assailant pulled a black pistol during the 10 a.m. robbery of the North Community Bank branch, 1555 N. Damen Ave., according to the FBI.
The robber is described as a black man between the ages of 25 and 30 who is 5-foot-6 or 5-foot-7, and was wearing a grey hoodie, sunglasses, and jeans.
It was classified as a "takeover robbery,'' the FBI said.
