BRIEF: FBI: Man robs second South Side bank

Oct. 28--A man suspected of robbing a South Side bank earlier this month robbed a bank in the Gresham neighborhood Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The man, who was armed with a gun, walked into the Fifth Third Bank, 8140 S. Ashland Ave., about 10:45 a.m., said Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.

The man fled with an undetermined amount of cash, Zala said.

The man is suspected of robbing an ABC Bank branch at 9443 S. Ashland on Oct. 18, according to the FBI's BanditTracker website.

The robber is described as African-American, between the ages of 25 and 30, with brown eyes and is about 5-foot-8. A surveillance photo of the robbery Tuesday shows him wearing a black skull cap and black jacket.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call the FBI at 312-421-6700.
