July 01--A bank on the Southwest Side was robbed Wednesday, authorities said.
The heist happened in the 4600 block of South Kedzie Avenue, according to the FBI.
At 12:08 p.m. a man approached a teller and announced a robbery, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a spokeswoman for the Chicago Police Department.
He demanded cash and a teller gave him an undisclosed amount of money, Pacheco said.
The robber, who did not show a weapon or imply he had one, fled and was not in custody, she said.
The robber was described as a black man in his late 30s to early 40s, about 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-11, weighing between 200 and 220 pounds. He was last seen wearing dark sweat pants and a Chicago Bears hooded sweatshirt. He had a black and white bandana over his face.
