BRIEF: Fall Out Boy frontman Pete Wentz to appear on Nickelodeon show

March 10--Fall Out Boy frontman Pete Wentz won't have to do much acting in his new television role.

Wentz, who grew up on the North Shore, is set to guest star on Nickelodeon's "School of Rock," scheduled to premiere 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

"I've never really done stuff with younger actors before and the energy level is off the charts," Wentz told Billboard magazine. "It's like hanging out with little espresso shots."

Wentz, 36, is set to play a hardcore rocker in two episodes of the series, based on the 2003 Jack Black film of the same name. The show, which follows prep-school students inspired by their substitute teacher to form a secret band, airs 7:30 p.m. Saturdays.

Meanwhile, Fall Out Boy is scheduled to perform Saturday at the United Center as part of the band's "Wintour is Coming" tour.
