Oct. 13--It's only Tuesday but it's already been a big week for Fall Out Boy, which announced a North American tour, a remixed single with Demi Lovato and an American Music Award nomination.
The band, which hails from the North Shore, announced on its blog Monday it had re-recorded the song "Irresistible" from its "American Beauty/American Psycho" album with Lovato and will release the single Friday.
"'Irresistible' always felt like it could become something else, something exciting, strange, beyond. I think Demi Lovato has one of the most powerful voices today. So we worked through an afternoon and she just got it," the band posted.
Fall Out Boy also announced a 20-stop tour called "Wintour is Coming" with Awolnation and Pvris that includes a March 12 show at the United Center. Ticket pre-sale starts Wednesday while general ticket sale begins Friday.
The band, which was nominated Tuesday for an American Music Award in the favorite alternative artist category, played the Illinois State Fair in August.
