BRIEF: Extras needed for Charlize Theron movie filming in Chicago

Feb. 09--Extras are needed for an indie movie starring Charlize Theron that is slated to film for about three weeks in Chicago.

Stand-ins and photo doubles are needed for Theron, Thandie Newton, Amanda Seyfried, Joel Edgerton and David Oyelowo, 4 Star Casting announced Sunday on Facebook.

The Amazon Studios movie, directed by Nash Edgerton and once called "American Express," is slated to shoot the weeks of Feb. 22, March 7 and March 14, according to the casting call. An Amazon rep did not return a Tribune request for comment.

Theron, who won a best actress Academy Award in 2004 for her role in "Monster," starred in last year's "Mad Max: Fury Road" and "Dark Places," based on the book by Chicago author Gillian Flynn.

This is not the first Amazon Studios movie filmed in Chicago. Spike Lee's "Chi-Raq," a fictional look at the aftermath of a young girl's shooting on the South Side, filmed on the South Side and in Wicker Park last year.
