BRIEF: Ex-Chicago Cub David DeJesus lists Wheaton mansion for $1.499 million

Aug. 24--Former Chicago Cubs outfielder David DeJesus and wife, Kim, have listed their 15-room all-brick mansion in Wheaton for $1.499 million.

DeJesus, 35, played for the Cubs from 2012 until he was traded to the Washington Nationals in August 2013. He now plays for the Los Angeles Angels.

DeJesus' wife is a Wheaton native. Shortly before DeJesus signed with the Cubs as a free agent in November 2011, he and his wife paid $1.05 million for the home.

They originally listed it for $1.595 million before reducing their asking price to $1.549 million before this latest asking price.

Built in 1992, the five-bedroom, 6,000-square-foot house has six baths, new walnut floors, a remodeled master suite with a dressing room and walk-in closet, a third-floor studio, a new kitchen and a finished basement with a rec room, bath, bedroom and bar. The house sits on a 0.68-acre lot.

Listing agent Jacqueline Gibson of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff declined to comment Sunday.
