BRIEF: Evanston police investigating shooting

Nov. 03--Evanston police are investigating the Monday morning shooting of a 22-year-old man in the 700 block of Dobson Street.

The Evanston man walked into Presence Saint Francis Hospital on Monday with a gunshot wound to the left arm, according to police. Officials described the injury as not life-threatening.

The victim had gang affiliation, police said. Based on preliminary information, the motive for the shooting may be drug-related, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident can contact the Evanston Police Department's detective bureau at (847) 866-5040. Anonymous information can be sent through Text-A-Tip by texting to CRIMES (274637) and then EPD TIP with the information.
