BRIEF: Erica Daniels joins Second City Theatricals

March 17--Longtime Steppenwolf Theatre Company casting and associate artistic director Erica Daniels is to join Second City Theatricals as a vice president. Second City Theatricals is a company within The Second City, mostly involved in creating Second City-branded and other entertainment for the theatrical market.

Daniels' move comes as Anna Shapiro takes over as artistic director of Steppenwolf. Shapiro is expected to make changes within the senior artistic team including bringing in her own associate artistic director.

For Second City, Daniels' arrival offers an opportunity to increase the management of a growing business. Daniels, 45, is known (among other things) for her singular knowledge of the Chicago talent pool.
