Dec. 30--The theater and dance communities of Chicago are mourning the death of Eric Eatherly, a publicist for the Chicago-based Silverman Group and a former dancer. He was 35. Eatherly died Monday in a car accident in Knoxville, Tenn., while visiting family, according to an announcement Tuesday from his employer Beth Silverman.
Eatherly was born in San Francisco in 1979. He graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston with BA in dance, and then worked as a professional dancer with companies such as Hedwig Dances and Same Planet Different World Dance Theatre until an injury took him away from the stage. At the Silverman Group, he represented such arts organizations as the Joffrey Ballet, Lyric Opera and Redmoon Theater.
